An Oldie But Goodie; Introducing A New Pet Into The Home

Animal communication is a fantastic way to help prepare your family for introducing a new pet into your home.

I spoke with a female German Shepherd, Angelina, whose family wanted to ask her thoughts and feelings about adopting a new dog into the home.

Me: What did you think of Peter?

Angelina: I was impressed by him. He was very strong and sure of himself. I liked his energy.

Me: Do you think you would like him to come live with you?

Angelina: It would be good. I think we could play together in the backyard. I would like him to know that he isn't going to dominate everything, though. (Peter had already piped in earlier that he believed that he would be the more dominate dog in the house). There are certain things we will need to negotiate. For example, the food zone.

Me: How about the sleep situation?

Angelina: It will be important to have a period of time where we sleep in different rooms.

Me: So you are feeling positive about Peter coming to live with you?

Angelina: Yes. I feel like the anxiety that I have around men will be reduced with Peter's presence.

Angelina's input helped her family to make a clearer decision and they felt more confident in choosing to bring their new family member, Peter, into their home!

This communication is a prime example of some of the thoughts and feelings that our animal family members experience when a new animal is being introduced into a family.

If you are considering adopting a pet, always consider the current animals who live with you and how they might feel about this change.
