Animals Helped Me Not Care (What People Think)

I am going to admit something....I have had times when I did not want to share with others about animal communication. Here's why I didn't stop.

One of the most exciting things about communicating with animals is actually the peace that they bring in each and every communication that I have with them. This is akin to a "runner's high" that also provides a way for humans to truly understand what animals are trying so desperately to tell us. Even if you have not experienced an animal communication session (and why are you missing out?) perhaps you can relate to why I would continue to spread the word despite some odd looks.

When I initially connect with an animal a wave of love passes through me no matter what the situation is that we are dealing with.
It's the same wonderful experience if it's an issue related to urinating outside of the litter box or an animal experiencing extreme anxiety. In my blog post, That Love Thing, I go into more detail about the fact that meditating before each session slows down my brain activity which plays a part in being able to connect with an animal on their level. "Animal's brains operate in the alpha, theta and delta states (relaxed to deeply relaxed and sleep brain waves) whereas humans, while awake, often function in the beta state (associated with alertness, planning, anxiety and generally not a highly relaxed state of mind). When I work with an animal, I find that I naturally shift into an improved mental, emotional, physical and energetic state." (archive excerpt 1.18.16)
Beyond the physical changes that I experience during an animal communication session, I believe that the positive feeling is simply because animal's are pure of heart. So communicating with them is to tap into a level of "goodness" that we may rarely ever experience interacting with fellow human beings. This is an indulgence that often the pet's human will report back to me having experienced during our sessions. This is a feeling that my students usually find to be the "cherry on top" of animal communication.

Caring what other people think could have prevented me from pursuing a life of communicating with animals. That is an incredibly sad thought. Animals have taught me so much and bring with them in every communication this peace. Had I had stopped because of the resistance of some I would have deeply regretted it.

Animals are great teachers and amazing things happen whenever I encounter a student who recognizes their own ability to communicate with animals. I recall the response of one particular Level 1 Animal Communication student when their classmate confirmed for them that they were accurately relaying what their dog was saying, "I feel like I've done this before!" Imagine my excitement for them. I am overjoyed to be able to be a part of this re-awakening of an innate ability that has been lying right beneath the surface of most animal lover's relationships.

Can you recall a time when you felt as though you were communicating with an animal?
