Oliver is a dog who lives at the 11th Hour Rescue in Randolph, NJ. I spoke with Oliver recently and found his energy to be very solid. Oliver is a dog that just wants a home and will be very devoted to his family.

Conversation with Oliver
Oliver: I am grateful to have a stable place to live. I feel like my kennel is "mine." However, it is hard to be so much in the energy of other dogs barking and feeling the stress of that can make me feel not so good. (Oliver shows me him walking at the shelter with a tall male. I feel that he would benefit from spending some time in the presence of a male to create some balance). I really want to be in the grass. I really like to sniff the grass and follow the smells. One time I saw a moth and followed it. I really liked playing with the moth.
I see Nicole (a volunteer at the shelter) as the "leader." I follow her. When she takes me out I love to go in the car. (Oliver had spent the previous weekend on an overnight with Nicole). I really liked playing outside where we were. I do understand I can't go to live with her. This is disappointing but there are other homes where I think I would be happy.
I am very interested in cats. I have been around them in the past and I find their smell interesting. I would really like to go on walks with someone (especially in the grass).
Me: As always when I work with a dog who needs a new home, I show Oliver how to broadcast the kind of home he would like which includes playing and walking in the grass.
