My Favorite Things
Since you might be looking for some
something special to give your animal companions this holiday season,
I decided to share with you some of my favorite holistic products
(for pets and people). These are in no particular order.
I would have put all ten (the next five will be coming) but blogs aren't supposed to be that long or else I am told you will be overwhelmed and apparently will stop reading:
1) Young Living Oils
Young Living Oils have become a staple of my animal care (as well as for myself). There are so many wonderful oils I can't even begin to choose a favorite. Although there has been a lot of controversy about the use of oils with animals, Dr. Melissa Shelton, DVM “The Oily Vet” has studied these oils and their use with animals. She has a website that can help to explain everything from where the fear has come to safe use of these oils with animals:

Ninja Red - Young Living Oils
I added Ninja Red to my cat TirNa's food shortly following a temporary relocation during hurricane Sandy. Under stress and starting to get sick, my cat perked right up after I started giving Ninja Red to her. Ninja Red is packed with immune boosting ingredients. And once again, I use it as well and notice my energy level picks up right away.
2) Probiotics
Probiotics formerly were dismissed by
many veterinarians for their usefulness but even mainstream vets are
now recommending them. I have found them to be an essential part of
my animals' supplements. My Meesha (dog) has a sensitive tummy at
times and since I began using probiotics along time ago, I have
definitely seen an improvement in this area.

3) Emergency Trauma Solution
ETS by Perlandra. ETS has come in so
handy in a variety of situations.Thunderstorms for my dog,
traveling for my cat, etc. There's even an ETS for adults. I love the
Perlandra website as it has many interesting things to read about:
4) Jackson Galaxy Essences
My cat Wolfgang (who is now passed)
used to be a horrific traveler. Drooling, urinating, I once had to
turn around a half hour into a trip and go home because I was afraid
he was going to die. Back before Jackson Galaxy had his own
television program he was available for private consult. Jackson
helped prepare Wolfgang on a move that took over 3 hours. He worked
with me one on one on the phone and recommended a few Spirit
Essences. Wolfie did amazingly well. He sleep through most of the
trip and I have to give most of the credit to Jackson essences as
well as his training desensitization advice.
More recently, myself
and my mother have used his Feral Cat Rehab and the results have been
very good. My mother had been working with a foster cat who wouldn't
come out of a small area under the stairs in her basement. With
consistent use the FCR this cat has made great strides. I saw a
change in my cat, TirNa, who started to become “cuddly” with me

5) Goldenseal
I also began giving my cat, TirNa,
Goldenseal to counteract the effects of conjunctivitis. I saw a
difference a day or two after I added the Goldenseal to her food. I
was using the capsule with powder inside that I bought at Whole
Foods, just broke it apart and gave a third to a half. As always,
check with your veterinarian to see if Goldenseal could help your
pet.
