Creating A Holistic Surgery For Your Pet

Decisions
When the veterinarian informed me that my cat, TirNa needed to have her teeth cleaned under anesthesia I was less than pleased. Over the past few years I have been utilizing an anesthesia free teeth cleaning for my animals. Due to a condition called tooth re-absorption, however, my cat would require more in-depth above the gum cleaning under anesthesia and possible surgery.
I prepared TirNa for the all of this by boosting her immune system with a variety of holistic approaches. I also provided her with massage sessions, Reiki and acupressure points for dental and immune system. In addition, I utilized the Kitty Raindrop Technique, developed by Young Living Oils founder, Gary Young. This method incorporated the use of oils for a variety of purposes but works wonderfully for temporary immune system strengthening. I also put Ninja Red in TirNa's food (as I do anyway), which includes Wolfberry, a powerful antioxidant.
TirNa happens to love receiving all of these modalities and just soaks them right up. (see video of acupressure below). Please be advised that I use only Young Living Oils for myself and for my animals because of there purity. I also make sure to dilute all of the oils that I use. It. is important to be aware that cats, generally speaking, require that the oils be diluted before application. The Kitty Raindrop Technique was specially formulated with this in mind.

The Spiritual Component
Once I had explored all options and determined that TirNa would possibly require surgery, I focused on making this a positive experience. It was important to include in this, working on my own energy by transforming any negative preconceived thoughts that I had about anesthesia and surgical procedures. I meditated on this and visualized TirNa having a procedure that was guided by God. I prayed ahead of time and during the procedure and asked friends to pray as well. I asked for God's presence to be with TirNa during the procedure and for the angels to go ahead to prepare the energy of the surgical room and to be present in the room with her. I asked God to guide the surgeon's mind, heart and hands during her procedure.
TirNa also "took to her herself" a few days before the scheduled procedure. I am still amazed at the level of intuition of the animals and this was no different for this event. I received a call on Thursday evening that her procedure, which I had been scheduled for Saturday, had been switched to Friday, the very next day. I had noticed that she was preparing ahead of time by keeping to herself but it did seem a bit early as she started this process on Monday of that week. A bit concerned, I had asked her about this and she had informed me that she needed to start "now." She was obviously aware of the timing change before I was.
TirNa's procedure went smoothly and afterwards I was permitted to spend some time with her before taking her home. I performed manual lymphatic drainage on TirNa to aid in the processing of the anesthesia and to help her in recovering from the surgery faster.
Healing
TirNa received all of the holistic modalities mentioned above post-surgically and is currently asking me for work on her as she needs it. I also provide her, as usual, with pro-biotics to counter-act any harmful effects of her post-surgical anti-biotics. I am also giving her prescribed pain meds.
Although many of us do our best to use holistic methods there may be times when our animals will need to be exposed to more "conventional" methods of treatment. In these situations it is important to be flexible in response to what our animals needs are. I saw TirNa's situation as a learning opportunity. A chance to blend modalities in a way that would be in TirNa's highest good. In the end, everything worked out wonderfully.  TirNa is healing very fast and she is back to her old self!
