Animal Love
I recently traveled to Sedona, AZ and visited a wonderful wildlife park called
http://www.outofafricapark.com/. I was, at first, going to write about some of the conversations with the animals that I had there. I may still do this in the future. But a realization evolved out of this experience that I feel is more important to write about here.
It was incredible the love that I felt for these animals at Out of Africa.
It is un-ending, the love that I have for my animal companions.
It is not only heart warming but heart “opening” for me to feel the love that people pour over animals – even when they've just met them. I saw this just yesterday when my animals' raw food distributor, Donna, came by, knelt down, kissed Meesha on her head and told Meesha, “I just love you.”
Why do we love them so much?
I feel that we are all seeking something. Even if we are not consciously aware of it. At some point in my life I became aware of the seeking. Many people interested in animal communication and other holistic and spiritual things feel this.
But what's missing and what is it that we are ultimately seeking?
There was a photo all over the web this week showing a man rocking his elderly arthritic dog to sleep. I believe this picture can provide a wonderful representation of how God cares for us
I believe that we are simply seeking love. And why do some of us gravitate so strongly towards the animals to fill this void? My feeling is that it is because the animals love us in a way that is similar (although not equal to) how God loves us. We feel that animals love us unconditionally. I believe that they do but if we were to stop feeding them and caring for them, they would likely, out of survival instinct, move on. Gods' love is unconditional and He will never leave us. . We might ignore Him but He is there, waiting for us. Call Him what you may, Great Spirit, Father, “Energy,” I believe that God instills in people the desire to seek His love. And I believe firmly that, depending upon the individual, will work through the animals to find Him so that he can give us what we are missing.
If you would, please indulge me and have a listen to this song. I feel that it encapsulates everything that God is trying to get us to understand about His love for us:
