Having been sick this week, I felt that
it would be nice to lift the energy with a focus on the funnier
things that can come from the minds and “mouths” of animals.
Gracie Locked in the Closet
I accidentally locked Gracie (kitty) in
the closest in my sick haze. After what must have been an entirely
terrifying 15 whole minutes, I came to her rescue after hearing her
crying. I emphatically apologized to her and explained that these
things do happen sometimes (especially when you spend your life
slinking around seeking out any new space to crawl into with your
tiny, fast moving, virtually undetectable body). Not living up to
her name, she was hardly gracious and instead continued to meow her
upset while giving me “the tail” as she stomped away from the
closet. At the same time she managed to telepathically communicate
what, in human, would be the equivalent of *&^%$#$. Oh yes, they
curse... in their own little way.
Meesha Is Watching
Me: So what do you think is funny?
Meesha (dog): “You, moving around the house
doing things all the time.”
Meesha proceeded to show me what was
like watching a movie of myself in high speed. Doing laundry, picking
things up, putting them down. My unsuspecting self unaware of my
loyal dog secretly mocking me. Me and my mundane attempts to keep it
all together. Very funny stuff.
TiTi in the Raw
 |
Perfectly Concealed |
Once again this diabolical mind has
tripped me up. I started out the week so very excited to start her on
raw food. I fantasized about how grateful she would be that I would
provide her with this delicacy. I would be fulfilling her natural
prey drive. She would love me for it.
Instead, this week has turned into a
battle of wits. Determined to defeat me, TiTi turned her nose up at
every attempt I made to conceal the new raw food in her old food:
TiTi: “It's cold, sticky and gross.”
Me: “Yes, but it's healthier for you,
let it warm to room temperature.”
TiTi: “So what and that doesn't make
it any better. You eat it.”
I am not done yet. This 8 lb fluff ball
will not defeat me.
BTW: If you're interseted in the health
benefits of feeding raw, check out what Dr. Becker's has to say:
